The leaders are there to advise so please ask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><thead><tr><th class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">PREPARATION &amp; PLANNING<\/th><th>ACTIVITY &amp; RECORDING EVIDENCE<\/th><th>ASSESSMENT &amp; APPROVAL<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\"> Find ideas on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.DofE.org\"><strong>DofE.org<\/strong><\/a> or see what is popular locally<\/td><td> Use our <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westhilldoe.co.uk\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/ActivityLogsheet.doc\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.westhilldoe.co.uk\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/ActivityLogsheet.doc\" target=\"_blank\">Activity Log<\/a> sheet or <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westhilldoe.co.uk\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Cookery_Diary.doc\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.westhilldoe.co.uk\/wp2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Cookery_Diary.doc\" target=\"_blank\">Cookery Diary<\/a>, an app or something similar to track your activity on each section.<\/td><td> Your Assessor must write a short report of what you did, when and where including start and end dates  <\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Agree who will act as your assessor (not a family member)<\/td><td>Gather additional evidence such as photos, certificates etc.<\/td><td>The report can be written in your Duke of Ed booklet, an email, a letter or directly online at&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.edofe.org\/assessor\" target=\"_blank\">eDofE.org\/assessor<\/a><\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Complete a program plan for each section on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edofe.org\">eDofE.org<\/a> including your aims and goals<\/td><td>Upload all evidence to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edofe.org\">eDofE.org<\/a><\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Volunteering<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The volunteering activity must be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-dac214c1-04e8-4ad3-93b8-c2d8b4e63ad3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>with a &#8216;not-for-profit&#8217; organisation (not a business)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sports coaching, helping at Brownies, helping in a charity shop, making sandwiches for homeless people, fundraising for a charity, youth club, environmental projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The skill must be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-009fbd08-6aa5-4b97-bf97-0154f2148032\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a personal challenge and not part of your school timetable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>playing a musical instrument, cooking\/baking, driving, model making, knitting, drawing, jewellery making, photography<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Physical<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The physical activity must be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-951a272a-5511-441b-a369-85f2f2cd80ea\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a personal challenge and demonstrate progress<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>swimming, table tennis, walking, cycling, basketball, badminton, tennis, snow sports, athletics, running, keep fit, martial arts, football, rugby, netball<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Expedition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The expedition is the main part of the award for which training is provided as it is critical that participants are competent in the mode of travel. The training provided will cover areas including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First aid, emergency and safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Campcraft<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food and cooking<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aim, presentation and evaluation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team building<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dofe.org\/shop\/aap-gold-residential-opportunities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Residential (Gold only)<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gold participants are required to&nbsp;spend five days and four nights taking part in a shared, worthwhile activity with people you\u2019ve never met before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The award consists of various sections which the participants require to plan, complete, record and then following assessment have it signed off.
